The Rx.com Mod Team has created this Service Play sub-forum in order to supply an area for Rx Service Play Posters to expand upon their posting topics without creating a logjam in the main forum where the three principle threads are maintained..

Posters can track services here if they care to but we will need any trackers to do so in an accurate and civil manner. We did not create this area for posters to ridicule or bash any services..

You can also discuss who is hot and who is not. The general state of the pay for plays industry and any other subject or topic related to service plays.

You can also create individual threads about specific services and discuss them freely but civilly. Again bashing and abusive treatment of any services will not be tolerated.

Please remember, this forum is not here for regular posters who cap their own games to post ther daily plays. Please use our individual sport forums to post your plays. Professional cappers (those that sell plays) must remain in the Site Promotion Forum.

The Rx.com will not tolerate posters that post false records of any services they track. Please be truthful if you decide to track a particular service.

Lastly The Rx Moderators are appealing to you our everyday posters to report any promotional threads or posts that are made by services or individual touts. No links or contact information to an individual service will be allowed. Just the name of the service. Please report any threads or posts that are promotional attempts by services and touts to use this forum to promote themselves..

Posters can easily report a promotional post by using the triangular Report-a-Post Icon at the bottom left of all post boxes. The poster name of any poster who reports a post that is out of line will be kept strictly confidential.

I will leave this thread open for a month to take questions and do my best to answer them. I will check in daily but am off on Wednesday and Thursday.

I hope this additional Service Play Forum will satisfy those posters that would like to widen the scope of topics relating to service plays and the industry in general to have their own threads. Mods will be liberal as possible regarding topics but this forum was specifically created to allow you more freedom to express your ideas regarding service plays and related subject matter. No off topic threads will be allowed.

Thank you, wilheim

Pick 'n' roll:

Tuesday's best basketball bets

NBA

Philadelphia 76ers at Memphis Grizzlies (-3.5, 190.5)

The 76ers bandwagon is getting crowded. Thanks to coach Doug Collins, the team is in the midst of one of the biggest turnarounds in the NBA. Philadelphia is 9-3 SU and 8-4 ATS in its past 12 games, including victories over San Antonio, Atlanta and Denver.

The calling card for the team during that streak has been defense. In the nine wins, the 76ers are giving up a mere 89.3 points per game – in the three defeats, the team is coughing up an average of 105. And when the 76ers hold an opponent to below 40 percent shooting, the team is 9-1 SU.

“I think guys know that our identity, if we want to win, has to be on the defensive end, because we don’t have explosive enough scoring,” said Collins. “We’re not going to have nights we put 120 up on the board. If we have any chance, we have to keep teams under 45 percent shooting and defend the three.”

With Collins having guards Jrue Holiday and Andre Igoudala pressuring the ball, the interior defenders simply have to work on their rotations and stand their ground in the paint. This is allowing the team to force not only tough jumpers but more turnovers, which enables the team to get out in transition and rack up easy baskets.

Also, Memphis will struggle scoring enough on its own. Guard Rudy Gay is nursing a sore toe and forward Zach Randolph is hobbled with a sprained ankle. Both should be monitored closely before tip.

Pick: Philadelphia

NCAA

Texas Tech Red Raiders at Missouri Tigers (-17, 159.5)

It wouldn’t matter if this game was played on the moon, but the Red Raiders are especially bad in opposing gyms. Texas Tech is a horrid 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in true road games this year, posting their only win at mediocre Iowa State. But that is by far the team’s brightest road spot this year as the team has struggled to be even competitive on the road.

“We’ll probably put together a tape of just bad plays or dumb plays,” Texas Tech coach Pat Knight said. “You had blockouts, missed layups, missed free throws, bad passes. It adds up. You just kill yourself.”

And there should be enough for several plays when they travel to Columbia. The Tigers are a perfect 15-0 at home this year and a strong 7-3 ATS in lined games. Overall, the team is a 27-11 ATS in its past 38 home games.

Missouri also has owned the Red Raiders in recent meetings, posting a 4-1 SU and 3-2 ATS record in the team’s past five clashes.

Keep a close eye on the injury report for Texas Tech as well. The team’s up-tempo attack could take a big hit if Mike Singletary is unable to go. The senior guard is averaging 13.2 points per game and dropped a stunning 33 points in the team’s only road win, but was limited to just four minutes in the team’s most recent game and is expected to be a game-time decision.

Pick: Missouri

Ice picks:

Tuesday's best NHL bets

Dallas Stars at Edmonton Oilers (+125, 5.5)

It will be an interesting flight to Edmonton for the Stars. Dallas coach Marc Crawford must find a way to revamp his entire offense as star forward Brad Richards will be out of the lineup for at least this game during the team’s road trip due to an undisclosed injury.

Richards leads the team in goals (24), assists (39) and points (63) and has 10 more points than any other player on the roster. He also has nearly 60 shots more than any other player on the roster while topping the team’s forwards in average ice time per game.

To this point, he had played in every game this season.

"There's never a good time for injuries but because the games are so demanding right now, the games are going to be intense. Injuries are part of the game," Crawford said. "From that standpoint, we know we have to play a dig in type of game. We're going to have to get good performances from players that get great opportunities to play.

The Oilers, meantime, have lost three straight, and are really struggling in their own end again. Over those games the team has coughed up 13 goals. Against a Dallas team that is without Richards and forced to shake up its lines, Edmonton should have a chance to shut down the Stars.

Pick: Edmonton

Philadelphia Flyers at Tampa Bay Lightning (-110, 5.5)

The Flyers might be the top road team in the NHL, but no team has their number like the Lightning. Tampa Bay is 3-0 against the Flyers this year, taking games by scores of 3-2, 8-7 and 4-0. In each game, the Flyers have struggled on the power play, going a combined 0-12 on the man advantage.

But the Flyers haven’t been doing much scoring of any type recently. The team hasn’t scored more than three goals in five games, going 3-2 during that stretch. Philadelphia also has totaled a mere eight goals during that streak. Things came to a head in a 1-0 loss to Los Angeles on Sunday when coach Peter Laviolette tried a few radical line shakeups.

Laviolette tried Claude Giroux, Richards, and Jeff Carter together. Then he put Andreas Nodl at center between Dan Carcillo and James van Riemsdyk.

"It wasn't a long-term plan," Laviolette said of the shake-up. "It was more just to give a different look, trying to attack more. It was tight out there again. I think we can expect that from here on out."

Sounds like a coach with more questions than answers.

Meantime, the Lightning have won eight of their past 10 games and are playing some of the best hockey of any team in the league. The Bolts have been sparked by the play of captain Vincent Lecavalier, who has notched eight points in the team's past seven games.

"The captain had his red cape and a 'S' on the back," Lightning coach Guy Boucher said. "Vinny, just incredible, just unreal, a horse out there from the first minute to the end. Right now, he’s inspired the team.”

Pick: Tampa Bay

Champions League: Tuesday preview and picks

The Champions League starts its knockout stage with four games this week and these matches are the first legs of two-game, total goals (aggregate score) series.

AC MILAN (-0.5, -140) vs. TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR (2.5 goals flat)

Milan beat Parma 4-0 and Spurs beat Sunderland away 2-1 on Saturday.

Milan are the bet. The Italians looked a little shaky from mid-December to mid-January but they've tightened up the back since a 4-4 draw with Udinese. In the seven competitive matches since, Milan have surrendered three goals total while scoring 12.

A largely second-choice Spurs team showed some guts coming from behind on Saturday, but the key to this bet is that it's a weakened side again travelling to Milan. Spurs will be without superstar winger Gareth Bale. The line has already moved 20 cents, but that's not nearly enough. Bale is one of 15 or 20 players in the world who is truly irreplaceable to his team.

Rafael van der Vaart (calf) should go for Spurs at less than 100 percent, but he is at his most dangerous when the opposition is preoccupied by Bale. Luka Modric (appendix surgery) might be able to play in midfield but won't play the whole match. Jermaine Jenas is suspended.

Nicko Krancjar is showing nice form for Spurs but they're just not good enough to do the business on the road. Spurs did not win a road game in the Group Stage and won't be getting anything from this one.

Milan are missing parts too, most recently Andrea Pirlo who went down in Friday practice with strained knee ligaments. Pippo Inzaghi remains injured. Mark van Bommel and Antonio Cassano are ineligible (cup-tied to Bayern and Sampdoria respectively).

Milan are deep, however, and can still run out Robinho and Pato with Seedorf playing in the hole behind them. Rino Gattuso, Thiago Silva, and Mathieu Flamini will provide supply from midfield.

Pick: Milan 2, Spurs 0.

VALENCIA (-0.5, -140) vs. SCHALKE (2 goals, over -130)

Valencia beat Atletico Madrid away 2-1 and Schalke beat Freiburg 1-0 on Saturday.

Valencia are eating Barcelona's dust just like everyone else in Spain, but are in good form too and that's the bet here. Valencia have five wins and a draw from their last six games and look set to break down a Schalke side that is treading water in the German Bundesliga.

Since basically bailing out on the Copa del Rey, Valencia have won all four of their home matches and pretty much sewn up a Top 4 finish in the Spanish Liga. The team rallied to victory on Saturday, and hundreds of fans welcomed the club home in triumph.

Schalke aren’t like most Bundesliga clubs that go for goals. Schalke play conservatively on the road. This game is going to be about trying to hit on the counterattack.

All Valencia need to do is be patient. They’ll have 60 percent of possession and 1-0 to Valencia might actually suit both teams here as Schalke will be much more confident about scoring goals at home in the second leg.

The hype in this game all surrounds Schalke's forward Raul. He's returning to play on Spanish soil for the Germans after many years as Real Madrid's captain. In truth, another ex-Madrid man, Klaas Jan Huntelaar, may be a bigger scoring threat.

Valencia have no new absentees. Schalke won’t have Kyriakos Papadopolous and Anthony Annan.

Pick: Valencia 2, Schalke 0

Bettors' best friend (BBF): Tuesday's wagering tips

Injury of interest

Mike Singletary, Texas Tech: Singletary is expected to play Tuesday against Missouri, but it doesn’t look like he’s anywhere near 100 percent. The 6-foot-5 senior forward is putting up more than 13 points per game on the year, though he has played only 26 minutes over the last two games. “Not having Mike Singletary really hurt us,” said senior guard David Tairu after Texas Tech dropped a 70-67 loss to Texas A&M. “If we had his (scoring) average today, we would have won by seven points. It was huge, because Mike Singletary is the leader on this team.”

Key trends

NBA: Miami has played over the total in six of its last eight games, while Indiana has hit on the over in each of its last four games.

NBA: Charlotte has covered in 10 of its last 12 road games and has also covered in seven of its last 10 games against the Chicago Bulls.

NBA: Philadelphia is riding a 10-4 run against the spread heading into Tuesday’s game at Memphis.

NBA: Utah has covered only seven of its last 26 games, but is 8-2 against the number in its last 10 games against Phoenix.

NHL: Toronto has won only three of its last 14 matchups with the Boston Bruins.

NHL: The Philadelphia Flyers have played under the total in seven of their last eight games.

NHL: Buffalo and Montreal have played under the total in seven straight matchups.

NCAAB: Michigan State has covered only once over the last 10 games.

NCAAB: Villanova is riding a 1-5 slump against the spread heading into Tuesday’s game against Seton Hall.

Number to note

92.2 - The Chicago Bulls sit second in the Association allowing 92.2 points per game and have given up more than 100 points in just two of their last 17 games. However, both of those contests have come within the club’s last four games.

Notes and tips

The Dallas Stars will be without their leading scorer, Brad Richards, for Tuesday’s game at Edmonton. Richards suffered an undisclosed injury in the final shift of Sunday’s loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets and the team isn’t sure when he’ll return. "He's not feeling 100 percent today,” Stars coach Marc Crawford told reporters Monday. “Brad would like to join us but we think it is the best measure for him to stay behind and get him back to 100 percent before he rejoins the club. We're going to be cautious here and not only what is best for Brad Richards but also for the Dallas Stars." The Stars are already without Jamie Benn, Adam Burish, Toby Petersen, Krys Barch and Ray Sawada up front.

New Utah Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin has some work in front of him after Jerry Sloan stepped down last week and he knows exactly where he wants to start: in the paint. Corbin wants to get his bigs, especially Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap, to be more aggressive around the bucket and to start getting solid numbers from his frontcourt consistently. Corbin is also trying to figure out what to do with a banged-up lineup and may have to sign someone to a 10-day contract until the bumps and bruises subside. “We certainly can’t play for an extended period of time with nine guys, and two of those guys being rookies,” he told reporters. Meanwhile, Andrei Kirilenko missed Monday’s practice with a strained ankle and will sit out Tuesday’s game against the Suns. Ronnie Price and Raja Bell both participated in Monday’s workout but still remain questionable for Tuesday’s game.

The Philadelphia Flyers may already be the deepest team in the NHL and they just got even stronger with the addition of Kris Versteeg on Monday. The Flyers sent a first and a third-round draft pick in this summer's draft to the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for the 24-year-winger. Versteeg lasted just 53 games with the Leafs after coming over from the defending-champion Chicago Blackhawks, picking up 14 goals and 35 points over that span.
